In this week’s latest South Florida hiring news, Gian Rodriguez has left CBRE, where he served as managing director in South Florida, to join Kurv Industrial as the Miami market officer.
His appointment follows the planned retirement of Kevin Carroll, who held the position for 15 years, according to a news release. Carroll will remain involved in the firm, formerly Bridge Industrial, to help with the transition.
Rodriguez has almost 20 years of experience leading industrial real estate businesses across South Florida, the release said. At CBRE, Rodriguez was responsible for the business operations and growth of the firm’s advisory services lines of business in the tri-county region. Before joining CBRE, Rodriguez was a director and then managing principal at Cushman & Wakefield, where he completed over $2 billion in industrial sales and lease transactions, the release said.
Serhant hired Regina “Regi” Sotomayor as managing director of Serhant New Development, based in Tampa. Sotomayor will transition her independent brokerage to operate under Homescene Serhant, according to a news release.
Sotomayor will lead sales for the 164-unit Roche Bobois St. Pete Tower, the first designer-branded residential tower in St. Petersburg. The $240 million development is also the Paris-born luxury design house’s first project in the U.S, the release said.
Sotomayor brings nearly two decades of luxury real estate experience to Tampa Bay. Before founding her independent brokerage, Sotomayor served as the vice president of sales at Valor Capital Real Estate Development, according to Linkedin. She also held positions at Coastal Properties Group & Christie’s International Real Estate, Premier Sotheby’s International Realty and Keller Williams Realty.
Savills added Vicky Ban to its Miami office as an associate director. The addition expands the firm’s Korean Corporate Services Desk, which helps Korean companies navigate commercial real estate in North America, according to a news release. Ban will work alongside Houston-based Associate Director Nathaniel Han as co-lead of the group, the release said.
