The effort comes after KSA in October 2023 paid $2 million for the modernist building, which opened in 1965

Officials with KSA, which operates its office nearby at 22 Middleton St., could not be reached for comment. However, and as the Post previously reported, the design firm created a charter related to the building and images submitted to MDHA show “KSA” on the reimagined structure.

The late David Kline paid $40,000 for the 22 Middleton St. property in 1983, according to Metro records. Cleveland-based GBX Group and Essex Development, which is co-based in Louisville and Nashville, have acquired multiple properties near the KSA property and are eyeing a “culinary district” for the Rutledge Hill area.

Hugh Jolly, Graffiti Indoor Advertising founder, sold KSA the Lindsley Avenue property via Jolly Management Inc., having paid $140,000 for it in 1999, Metro records show.

Advertising agency Social Indoor previously operated from the office building, with the owner of that company having acquired Graffiti Indoor Advertising in mid-2022 for an undisclosed sum.

The Hillsboro Village-area commercial building last home to Coin Laundry Express and located across from the district’s Kroger is being given a new usage.

Harley May, owner of Harley’s Homes, said he will operate a private laundry facility (not open to the public) from the main level (about 2,000 square feet) and that will service his company’s roughly 58 short-term rental properties. The upstairs space (about 800 square feet) will be rehabbed to offer one short-term rental unit, which is slated to be operational by mid-February.

The family of late businessman Jim Hunt owns the property, which is located at 2130 21st Ave. S. Hunt, who died in July 2023, served as Belle Meade mayor and was known for his philanthropic work.

The building for years served as a single-family residence, with a portion of the main level later added so as to accommodate the laundry businesses.

May said the façade of the building will remain similar to its previous iteration. However, he has had installed a sign that reads “Harley’s Homes” and that features the Nashville skyline.

Terms of the lease and the cost to update the building are not being disclosed. May said he has yet to finalize nightly rates for the rental unit.

May, who lives in Belmont-Hillsboro, plans some art featuring Southern slogans and that will be created on the south side of the building (facing Blair Boulevard).

“It’s a cool piece of Hillsboro-Village history,” May said of the property.

A West Davidson County commercial building located near music and arts performance center OZ Arts has sold for $4.48 million.

According to a Davidson County Register of Deeds document, the new owner of the property, located at 6115 Cockrill Bend Circle, is Enterprise Investment Fund I LLC. That entity is affiliated with electrical engineering services company Enterprise Solutions, which is based in Nashville and offers a presence in San Antonio and Orlando.

Jim Seabury, Enterprise CEO, could not be reached for comment regarding the company’s plans for the building it has just acquired.

The seller was a trust related to Nashville’s Barnes family. Don Barnes acquired the property in 2001 for $450,000 and launched DELK, a consumer product company for which he serves as president, within the building on the property that year. Barnes could not be reached for comment.

OZ Arts is located at 6172 Cockrill Bend Circle, with John C. Tune Airport to the east and the Cumberland River to the west of the just-sold property.
