Expansions, conversions and agent moves

Jay Patel and team join Remax Infinity in St. John’s

St. John’s real estate agent Jay Patel and his team have joined Remax Infinity, becoming part of Team Burton, led by brokerage owner Jim Burton and Teri-Lynn Jones.

Patel is joined by associates Rajwinder Singh, Jasvir Khokhar and Matthew Blundon. The four agents will continue serving clients in St. John’s and surrounding communities.

Patel began his real estate career with Century 21 in 2021 and has since sold more than 250 properties, representing over $50 million in sales volume. He was named to Century 21’s Top 30 Under 30 list in Canada for three consecutive years and was the top producer at his former brokerage in 2024 and 2025.

“The first five years of my career were about establishing myself and seeing what I could accomplish,” Patel said. “Now I want to reach the next level, and that’s why I joined Remax Infinity.”

The expanded Team Burton brings together experience in residential resale, new construction, commercial real estate and land development.

Karen Doering joins Royal LePage Estate Realty, launches new team

Toronto real estate agent Karen Doering has joined Royal LePage Estate Realty and launched The Karen Doering Group.

Doering made the move at the end of the summer, with plans to expand her business in Toronto’s east end, where she lives and works.

She said Royal LePage Estate Realty’s established presence in the area was a key factor in her decision, allowing her to work more closely with her existing client base.

“The foundation of my business is rooted in the community I live in and am proud to be a part of,” Doering told REM.

Looking ahead, Doering plans to continue growing her team and working with local families, particularly those looking to move into larger homes as changing market conditions create new opportunities for buyers. Real estate agent Sandra Wendland has joined the Karen Doering Group.

Before joining Royal LePage Estate Realty, Doering was an agent with Bosley Real Estate.

New association launches to unite Indigenous Realtors across Canada

The Indigenous Association of Realtors (IAR) has officially launched, aiming to bring Indigenous real estate professionals together, strengthen representation in the industry and improve education around Indigenous land ownership and housing.

The Indigenous-led organization was founded by Tanya LaRose of Saskatoon, with fellow board directors Kevin Isbister of Prince Albert, Sask., and Alyx Lamy of Winnipeg.

The association is recruiting members nationally, with plans to eventually establish board representation from across Canada. Its goals include developing an Indigenous real estate professional designation, providing education on reserve land and property ownership, and establishing an Elders and Knowledge Keepers Council.

The IAR also hopes to help Indigenous homebuyers navigate the real estate process and provide a national platform for sharing knowledge about land ownership, leasing and development.

Operating in B.C. since 2020, Ace has represented projects ranging from woodframe multi-family developments and concrete towers to resort master-planned communities.

Real launches new AI platform for agents

The Real Brokerage has launched Leo Pro, an artificial intelligence platform designed to help agents with tasks ranging from listing marketing and social media content to transaction paperwork and administrative work.

Unveiled at the company’s annual RISE conference in Las Vegas, the platform currently offers more than 40 specialized AI tools, with plans to expand that number significantly over the next year.

Agents can also create their own AI tools and automated workflows without coding experience through a feature called Leo Pro AI Builder.

The subscription-based platform is being made available to agents across the Real Remax Group, following Real’s acquisition of Remax earlier this year.
