Scots families forced to flee homes after 19 properties evacuated due to massive house fire


Scots families were forced to flee in terror as 19 properties were evacuated after a massive blaze ripped through a premises nearby last night.

Emergency crews were alerted to the blaze at Mary Street in Laurieston, Falkirk on Saturday, March 9, at around 8pm. Cops confirmed that 19 properties were evacuated but there were no reported injuries.




The fire is not believed to be wilful but enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances.

A road closure remains in place in both directions on Mary street between Boyd Street and Abbotsford Drive. Motorists are advised to avoid the area.

An Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson confirmed they received reports of a fire at a residential property in the area last night and sent out six appliances.
