Trafford Council secured a full closure order at Manchester Magistrates’ Court against the property on Trafford Grove, Stretford.
Problems around the two-bedroom terrace house on Trafford Grove included repeated attendance by police, neighbour complaints and incidents causing significant disruption to the community.
The order was sought after housing management, support, safeguarding measures, help for the occupant to move and County Court action failed to solve the problems.
The court heard evidence from Trafford Council, Greater Manchester Police, the housing provider and residents before granting the order.
Cllr Keleigh Glenton, Trafford Council Executive Member for Communities and Safety, said: “Everyone has the right to feel safe in their home and neighbourhood. This case involved a history of anti-social behaviour which had a significant impact on nearby residents and needed repeated intervention from multiple agencies.
“A full closure order is not a power that the council seeks lightly. It is reserved for the most serious cases where other attempts to resolve the issues are unsuccessful. We thank the council’s community safety team and partners for their work to restore peace to the area.”
