Less than a year after joining Arizona-based franchisor HomeSmart as president, Onnen has accepted a new position at the agent-owned, tech-forward firm.

Editor’s note: As an industry with millions of agents and over 100,000 brokerage companies, new leaders rise to the top every day. Here we highlight executives and other notable leaders who’ve recently taken on, or stepped away from, roles that influence the residential real estate landscape.

‘Industry giant’ joins Epique Realty

Epique Realty has appointed Stacey Onnen as its new president of brokerage operations.

David Elwood, the executive director of the agent-owned and tech-based brokerage’s commercial real estate division, broke the news in a June 24 post on LinkedIn declaring “another industry giant” has joined the firm — a development that he described as “GIANT NEWS.”

Onnen commented on Elwood’s post Wednesday afternoon, sharing that she is “excited to grow” with the firm in her new role.

Epique, a cloud-based brokerage founded in 2021, has grown quickly during its first five years. The firm now has more than 5,000 agents and tallied over $7 billion in sales volume in 2025, according to T3 Sixty’s Mega 1000. It was one of the biggest movers in the brokerage rankings, jumping from No. 52 to No. 29 in sales volume, or 63% year-over-year.

Onnen brings over 20 years of industry and leadership experience to the fast-growing upstart, most recently serving as president at HomeSmart, a job she took last fall. She previously led operations and service at Keller Williams and held several roles at eXp Realty in her four years at the brokerage, ultimately rising to the president of operations position.

Before becoming an executive, Onnen worked as a real estate broker and business manager. That on-the-ground perspective has led her to urge other industry leaders to think about an agent’s career trajectory differently — and to “take a chance” on new and part-time agents, she told fellow execs at a conference last month.
