Lionel Messi’s success on the football pitch has translated into an equally impressive real estate portfolio. Over the years, the Argentine football legend has assembled luxury properties across Argentina, Spain and the United States.According to Elle Decor, Messi’s global real estate portfolio is estimated to be worth around $300 million, reflecting not only his lifestyle but also his long-term investment strategy. As Messi continues his bid for a second FIFA World Cup title in 2026, here’s a look at the football legend’s luxury real estate empire.

Castelldefels mansion, Spain

According to Robb Report, Messi’s real estate investments began in 2009 when he purchased a home in Castelldefels, near Barcelona, for about $2 million. The residence gradually evolved into a private compound after he acquired neighbouring plots of land. The home reportedly features a swimming pool, spa, gymnasium, private football pitch, barbecue area and panoramic views of the Mediterranean. Elle Decor estimates the estate is now worth around $7 million.

Luxury homes in Florida

The footballer bought a $5 million luxury apartment in the Porsche Design Tower in Miami, Florida. The tower is renowned for its patented ‘Dezervator’ car lift, allowing residents to park their vehicles directly beside their apartments. He later bought an entire floor at the nearby Regalia condominium for approximately $7.3 million. The residence offers oceanfront views, expansive terraces, a private wine room and access to luxury amenities including multiple swimming pools, a spa and fitness facilities.Messi also owns a waterfront mansion in Bay Colony, Fort Lauderdale, purchased for about $10.8 million. The property serves as his primary family residence in the United States and includes eight bedrooms, multiple entertainment spaces, a private dock and wellness facilities.

‘The Fortress’ in his hometown

Messi also owns a sprawling family estate in his hometown of Rosario, Argentina, often referred to in media reports as ‘The Fortress’.According to Elle Decor, the property is valued at around $4 million and includes 25 rooms, a cinema hall, a gymnasium and an underground garage capable of accommodating 15 vehicles. The estate is widely regarded as the footballer’s long-term family retreat.

Ibiza holiday retreat

In 2022, Messi purchased a luxury villa on the Spanish island of Ibiza for around $12.8 million. Spanish media have reported that the property has faced legal issues relating to occupancy certification because of unauthorised alterations allegedly made before Messi acquired the residence.

Commercial properties and investment assets

Beyond high-end homes, Messi has steadily diversified into commercial real estate.According to Elle Decor, he has invested in Trump Royale and acquired multiple residences at the under-construction Cipriani Residences Miami, with some units reportedly valued at up to $7.5 million. These purchases highlight his growing exposure to Miami’s luxury property market beyond owner-occupied homes. In 2024, Reuters reported that Messi’s real estate investment trust, Edificio Rostower Socimi, debuted on Spain’s Portfolio Stock Exchange with a valuation of around €223 million. According to Reuters, the trust owns seven hotels in Spain and Andorra, three office properties, five apartments in Spain, as well as apartments in London and Paris, underscoring Messi’s growing investments beyond luxury residences.
