The collection comprises an array of global spiritual iconography for the wearer to connect to their own experiences, beliefs, memories, and stories.
It includes motifs of sacred hearts, crosses, angel wings, the Star of Bethlehem, Saint Christopher, Mary Mother of Jesus, a crucifix, the Star of David, the Hamsa, the chai, the fleur de lis, and an evil eye.
“Traveling through France and Italy, I was drawn to the centuries of artistry and the emotional power of symbolic jewelry. At the same time, my clients were also coming to me asking for spiritual talismans that they can wear close to their hearts,” said Joy Haugaard, designer and founder of Lionheart.
“I found myself drawing, designing, and reimagining these beloved motifs as expressions of love, devotion, protection, and connection. It started with the Star of Bethlehem, which turned out so beautifully, I just kept designing.”

The Sacred Heart collection is rooted in the belief that humanity is more connected than divided as it represents coexistence, said the brand, and is a reminder that while our stories may be different, universal experiences connect us.
“This collection is intended to unite people from all walks of life through shared emotion and meaning. Non-Catholics, for example, were asking me for Mary medallions because they love the idea of a female divinity to remind them of inner grace,” said Haugaard.
“I decided to incorporate many of the world’s religions as an ode to that higher power within each of us, regardless of what we call it. I love the beauty and symbolism of Gothic crosses, the Hamsa, the Sacred Heart, the Star of Bethlehem, St. Christopher medallions… all of it. I believe that what grounds us, guides us.”
Across the 55 pieces in the collection there are necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and charms/pendants.
Each motif was crafted in 18-karat yellow gold and reimagined through a modern lens to create pieces that feel deeply personal and universally meaningful, said Lionheart.
Throughout the pieces, there are accents of white and brown diamonds and colored gemstones like emeralds, sapphires, rubies, opals, and mother-of-pearl.
The Sacred Heart collection retails from $3,800 to $24,800 and is available on the Lionheart website.
While the collection debuted at Couture, it is ever evolving and will continue to grow with more symbols inspired by cultures from around the world, said Lionheart.
