Realty ONE firms merge; REMAX adds 46-year family indie

Editor’s note: The brokerage business is a busy one, with frequent moves, mergers and milestones. Here we highlight some of the latest activity among brokerages across the U.S.

2 Realty ONE Group firms merge in Pennsylvania

Realty ONE Group Unlimited has integrated Realty ONE Group Generations into its operations in south-central Pennsylvania, bringing more than 100 real estate professionals under the Unlimited banner.

Generations’ York and Shrewsbury offices will continue operating under the Realty ONE Group Unlimited name, expanding the brokerage’s physical presence while maintaining local operations. Generations founders Glenda Kane, Alex Kane and Aaron Pendergast will return their focus to residential sales as they lead The Glenda Kane Team at Unlimited while continuing to operate their property management firm Hulson Homes.

The incoming Generations agents will gain access to Unlimited’s technology platform, administrative infrastructure and listing solutions, including its CertainSale guaranteed sale program, according to a news release.

“This transition allows us to focus 100% of our energy on doing what we love most: serving our real estate clients,” Glenda Kane said. Partnering with the Unlimited brand “gives our agents and clients direct access to broader regional reach, stronger marketing programs like CertainSale, and top-tier support,” she added.

REMAX adds brokerages in Montana, Tennessee

Following last week’s completion of The Real Brokerage’s acquisition of REMAX, the franchise giant has announced the addition of new firms in Montana and Tennessee.

New REMAX firm established in Big Sky Country: REMAX Confluence has officially joined the REMAX network with its launch in western Montana. DJ Smith leads the firm as its broker-owner and is introducing its rollout with an initial group of nine agents.

Smith began his real estate career with REMAX in Missoula in 2014. He later held managing broker positions and has also been a leader at the Montana Association of Realtors, where he served as the association’s president in 2024.

In a company announcement, Smith said his experience with the brand early in his career influenced his decision to return, citing REMAX’s support for independent broker-owners and its ability to adapt to changes in the industry.

“I’ve had the opportunity to work with other brands and learn from different models, but what always stood out to me was how REMAX supports entrepreneurs,” Smith said. “When you’re building something of your own, it’s important to know the entire brand is invested in helping you succeed.”

The brokerage said it plans to recruit additional agents who align with its culture-focused approach, with a long-term goal of expanding its footprint and creating opportunities for mentorship, collaboration and professional development.

46-year family indie picks up the REMAX banner: David Jent Realty has joined the REMAX network after more than four decades serving southern middle Tennessee. The formerly independent firm will now operate as REMAX David Jent Realty.

Founded by David Jent in 1980, the family-owned brokerage is now led by his broker-owner son, Jason Jent. Jason Jent oversees a team of 18 agents serving Marshall County and surrounding communities, according to a news release.

The transition gives agents access to REMAX’s global referral network, marketing and technology platforms, and professional development resources. Jason Jent said the move is intended to provide his agents with additional resources and brand recognition while maintaining the brokerage’s relationship-focused approach and local presence.

“When people relocate to a new area, they often look for a name they recognize and trust,” Jason Jent said, adding that this is “the power of REMAX.”

“The brand’s reputation, visibility and network create opportunities for agents and give consumers confidence from the moment they walk through the door,” he added.

Hamptons team returns to firm that ‘always felt like home’

The Legacy Team has rejoined Compass in the Hamptons after two years at Hedgerow, bringing a group that has generated $200 million in sales volume since May 2024 back to the brokerage where the partners first began working together.

Led by Robbie Banker, Greg Gould and Dominic Couzens, the team will be based in the firm’s Sag Harbor office. The three agents each spent five to six years at Compass before launching their team two years ago and will now continue their business with support from Compass’ resources and national platform.

As part of the move, the team plans to launch a national division to connect homebuyers and sellers and expand opportunities for both clients and agents. The team also intends to continue growing its presence in the Hamptons, according to a news release.

“Compass has always felt like home for our team,” Gould said. “As we thought about the future of our business, we kept coming back to the people, the culture, and the platform. We’re excited to be back at Compass, where we have the resources to maintain the growth trajectory we’ve been on.”

37-agent California team with growth ambitions joins eXp

Fresno, California-based Tafoya Real Estate has joined eXp Realty, bringing approximately 37 agents to the cloud-based brokerage.

Led by Scott Tafoya, Tafoya Real Estate serves California’s Central Valley and other nearby markets. The group produced nearly $88 million in sales in 2024 and 2025, according to a news release, and focuses on residential, luxury sales, agricultural land, commercial and multifamily property sales, among other real estate segments.

Tafoya “didn’t just build a team, he built an ecosystem of financing, coaching, commercial, multifamily, agent development, all under one roof in the Central Valley,” eXp CEO Leo Pareja said. “He’s thinking about the next 500 agents, not the next 50.”

eXp “is built for operators who think that way,” Pareja added.

Tafoya said he plans to use eXp’s platform to expand recruiting and create additional opportunities for agents in production, team building, ownership, coaching and leadership.

“We didn’t move because we needed another brokerage,” he said. “We moved because the vision got bigger.”

SERHANT has welcomed the Chad Bishop Group into the fold in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Led by Chad Bishop, the team has closed over $600 million in career sales, including $80 million in the past 12 months alone. In a news release, Bishop praised SERHANT’s tech, marketing and media offerings, noting that the brand “understands how to create attention for both properties and agents.” Joining the firm “gives us the platform to think bigger, market differently and continue building something truly special,” he added.

Michael Saunders & Company has appointed Mick McCalley to serve as managing broker of the Florida firm’s offices in Venice and Wellen Park. McCalley brings over a decade of industry experience, with past roles in sales and brokerage management. McCalley credited Michael Saunders & Company’s “reputation for professionalism, high standards, and leadership” as key factors in his decision to join the firm, adding that he is excited about future growth opportunities and is “looking forward to supporting the accomplished agents already doing great work in these markets.”

Crye-Leike Real Estate Services has announced that its Wealth Building Program, which the brokerage launched less than six years ago, now has over 600 participants. Those who enroll can begin receiving benefits after either 10 or 15 years of participation in the program, depending on their age at the time of sign-up, according to a news release. “We created the Wealth Building Program to help our agents put money away for the future and build long-term financial security,” Crye-Leike Founder and CEO Harold Crye said. “We want our agents to be able to enjoy the retirement they’ve worked hard for and know their families have added protection if the unexpected happens.”
