Scott County Schools establishes property tax rate


SCOTT COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) – The Scott County Board of Education announced that they levied a general fund tax on property at a Sept. 3 meeting.

A general fund tax rate of 63.1 cents will be levied on real and personal property. The board says the tax is expected to produce $53,840,976.81.

The Scott County Board of Education says the rate is likely to generate more revenue than that of the previous year.

Funds from the $4,123,364.92 in funds above the 2026 revenue will be allocated in the following ways, the board says:

  • Cost of collections: $103,084.12
  • Building fund: $1,489,900.48
  • Instruction: $2,530,380.32

The general fund levied in the fiscal year of 2026 was 62.9 cents on real and personal property, and produced revenue of $49,717,611.89, according to the board.
