Summary
Arcana is one of the most important progression systems in Aion 2, but many players build incorrectly or waste resources chasing the wrong cards—some even buy Aion 2 Kina to fund that chase. As the number one assassin on the Taiwan server, I’ve spent a lot of time optimizing my Arcana setup. This guide will show you which cards to prioritize, how to farm efficiently, and how to maximize your DPS from beginner to endgame. Believe it or not—a green Arcana can actually be better than a gold one. Let’s jump right in.
1. Why Arcana Matters
Think of Arcana as “skill cards” that increase the levels of your active and passive skills. Normally, your main skills can reach level 10. The Dividend Board gives you another 4 levels, bringing them to 14. But to maximize DPS, we want our most important skills at level 20 to unlock their third skill—the Specialty.
Here’s the optimal setup:
|
Source |
Levels |
|
Base level |
10 |
|
Dividend Board |
+4 |
|
Arcana |
+4 |
|
Ring Soulbind |
+2 |
|
Total |
20 |
However, changing soulbinds can be expensive early on. If you don’t have the correct soulbinds yet, you can get all six remaining levels from Arcana instead.
2. Understanding the Arcana Types
Each Arcana contains a different skill pool, so you must know what you’re chasing before you start farming:
Malice: The most versatile card. Contains all of your active and passive skills—which makes it one of the hardest cards to get with the exact skills you want.
Parchment and Campus: Each contains roughly half of your active skill pool. You’ll need to target the right card depending on which skills you want to level up.
Mirror and Annabelle: Works similarly, but each contains half of your passive skill pool.
3. Early Game (Transcendence Stage 1)
When you’re just starting out, your goal is not to get the perfect Arcana setup. It’s to improve your important skills to at least level 16 while progressing through the transcendence dungeon.
At stage one:
Don’t worry about perfect stats or completing a set
Focus on getting green cards to improve your gear score and progress to the next stage
4. Mid Game (Transcendence Stage 2)
Once you reach stage two:
Prioritize blue Parchment and Campus, since these contain your important active skills
Your goal is to get your main DPS skill from level 14 to at least level 16
For Mirror and Annabelle, don’t worry too much about getting perfect passive bonuses yet—you’ll eventually replace these cards with gold ones
Don’t stress about whether your Arcana is Vigor or Magic Armor—as long as it has the right skills, use it
5. Which Set Effect Is Better: Primal Vigor vs. Magic Armor
There are two main Arcana set effects: Primal Vigor and Magic Armor.
Early game: When your attack is still relatively low, the four-piece Primal Vigor bonus provides a decent damage boost
Late game: As your attack increases, that extra 150 PvE attack becomes less impactful on your overall DPS
Conclusion: Don’t stress too much about completing the four-piece set, especially if it means giving up important skill bonuses.
6. Recommended Arcana by Slot
|
Slot |
Recommendation |
Notes |
|
Chalice |
Vigor |
For every class—the combat speed bonus is great |
|
Parchment |
Vigor |
Best for the extra HP; Templars can consider the Magic version for additional endurance and tankiness |
|
Belle |
Magic |
Percentage attack increase, which becomes increasingly valuable as your character gets stronger |
|
Campus |
Depends on content |
High accuracy requirements → Vigor (percentage accuracy); otherwise → Magic. Assassin exception: not recommended to use Magic, since attacking from behind allows you to ignore the boss parry |
|
Mirror |
Vigor early game |
Cooldown reduction, especially recommended for assassins; other DPS classes that benefit more from double chance can go Magic |
7. How Arcana Enhancement Works
Each rarity has a different enchantment limit—higher rarity cards give you more opportunities to improve your skills. But here’s something important:
High rarity does not always mean better.
For example, your blue or green Parchment may get your main skill to level 20, unlocking its third specialty. But switching to a gold Parchment with the wrong skills could make you lose that bonus even if your gear score increases.
Rule: Always prioritize important skill levels over gear score, unless you specifically need that extra gear score to unlock content.
8. When to Start Farming Gold Arcana
2200 gear score: Unlocks Transcendence Stage 3. But don’t farm it too much—gold Arcana only has around a 12% drop chance
2500 gear score: Unlocks Transcendence Stage 4, where the drop chance jumps to around 60%, with a chance to obtain a gold Chalice as well
A Trick to Reach 2500 Gear Score Faster
Reach 4,000 points in the Ascension Trials to receive 3 Mysterious Crystals
Redeem another 2 using season points
With 5 crystals, you can craft your first gold Arcana
I highly recommend crafting a gold Chalice: Chalice contains your entire active and passive skill pool, making it much harder to obtain with the exact skills you want. By crafting it with the five crystals, you can guarantee one important active skill of your choice. The remaining skills and enhancement bonuses are random, so you may not get the perfect result—but that’s fine. Your first priority is reaching 2500 gear score to unlock stage four. And since Parchment is easier to farm and has a smaller skill pool, you can farm Parchment to fill in the missing skill levels.
9. Endgame: The Perfect Arcana Combination
As you progress, you’ll eventually have more resources to work toward your ideal Arcana setup.
Assassin Example
There are 3 important active skills we want to bring to level 20
Ideally, your Parchment provides a +4 on one of those skills, so the Chalice only needs to cover the other two
This leaves room for 2 powerful passives on the Chalice: Rear Smite and Assault Stance
Your first crafted Chalice doesn’t need to be perfect—keep farming Parchment to complement it, and gradually improve both cards as you get more resources
Campus
Aim for at least +2 on your stagger skill to bring it to level 16
For Assassin: Storm Rampage +2, and ideally Savage Draw +4
Belle and Mirror
Focus on stacking enhancement bonuses on your strongest damage passives
10. Key Takeaways
Skill levels > gear score, unless you need the gear score to unlock content
Early game: use green cards as a stepping stone; mid game: blue Parchment/Campus to push your main skill to 16
Don’t sacrifice important skill bonuses just to complete a set
Push to 2500 gear score before farming gold cards, and use 5 crystals to craft a gold Chalice with a guaranteed key skill
A perfect setup takes time—prioritize your most important active skills first, then improve the rest as you progress
Getting the perfect setup takes time. Prioritize your most important active skills first and improve the rest as you progress—and if you’re short on funds along the way, you can Aion 2 Kina buy from trusted sources to speed up your card farming. For a reliable option, I recommend MMOEXP, which offers secure and fast delivery so you can stay focused on optimizing your Arcana rather than grinding for currency.
