MINNEAPOLIS (KTIV) – On October 17, 2026, KTIV’s General Manager/Vice-President Bridget Breen was inducted into the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Upper Midwest Chapter’s Silver Circle.
According to the NATAS website, The Silver Circle honors media professionals who began their careers in television at least 25 years ago, either in a performing, creative, technical or administrative role within the industry or in an area related to television such as TV journalism education, advertising, promotion, and public relations. Over the course of their 25-year career, they must also have made a significant contribution to the Upper Midwest Chapter.
As a student at Bishop Heelan High School, Breen was already behind the camera, shooting sports and occasionally contributing video to KTIV, the very station she would one day lead.
Bridget earned a degree in Broadcast Media from Iowa Lakes Community College, where a sports scholarship opened the door to the broadcasting world. She honed her craft at KILR Radio and completed an internship at KTIV before being offered a part-time role as an Assistant Producer/Editor.
She rose quickly through the ranks: from Evening Producer, where she helped launch a co-anchor format, to the Assignment Desk, where her instincts for leadership truly crystallized. She soon stepped into the role of News Director, embracing the challenge of guiding a newsroom with the same energy she once brought to a camera. Her ascent continued steadily.
In 2009, she took on station operations management alongside her news director duties, was promoted to Station Manager in 2012, and after completing the prestigious National Association of Broadcasters Leadership Program, was named Vice President and General Manager of KTIV in 2017.
Beyond the station, Bridget is a passionate community advocate, most notably supporting the Alzheimer’s Association’s “Wine & Roses Festival,” which has raised millions toward finding a cure.
