Markus Infanger, senior vice president of RippleX at Ripple, said Privy “brings proven wallet infrastructure that makes it easier for fintechs and developers to bring XRPL into real products,” CoinMarketCap reported. Privy co-founder and CEO Henri Stern said in the same report that the $XRP Ledger “has been building for payments from the start.”
Users are not locked in. The Block reported that Privy said users can still export their private keys and seed phrases if they want to move their wallets to another service. Privy’s documentation, as summarised by Coingabbar, also lists spending rules that let apps limit transaction types, allow or block recipients, and cap payment amounts.
The partnership also targets AI-driven payments. Privy’s server-side wallet infrastructure will let AI agents hold and transfer digital assets, including through the x402 payment protocol, Bitcoin.com News reported.
What It Means for the $XRP Ledger Ecosystem
For builders, using an established wallet provider could shorten development time, since wallet creation, management and signing are handled through Privy’s tools. Stripe acquired Privy in 2025, although the wallet provider continues to operate separately, according to KuCoin News.
The move also points to Ripple’s interest in broadening access to the network beyond institutional use. Privy said the XRPL has more than 8 million funded accounts and has moved over $1 trillion in value, as Coinspeaker noted. Ripple also said AI agents have processed 13 million payments on the ledger, roughly 25% of network activity.
Some caution is warranted. Coinspeaker noted that the announcement sets out intended capabilities rather than evidence of production adoption, and gives no customer list, wallet count or transaction volume for the integration. Planned features such as transaction policy controls and network fee sponsorship are still in development, according to Bloomingbit.
