Moritz Grossmann makes a strong impression with its Tremblage Gold, limited to just 16 pieces

In the refined world of haute horology, certain creations appear only rarely and immediately capture the attention of collectors. This is exactly what happens whenever Moritz Grossmann unveils a new timepiece. To mark a major anniversary in the history of the Saxon manufacture, the German house presents an edition of extreme rarity, crafted according to the most demanding artisanal traditions of Glashütte.

Case, strap and water resistance: refined design for exceptional comfort

The case of the Tremblage Gold embodies pure elegance. With a diameter of 41 mm and a height of 11.35 mm, it fits most wrists perfectly while maintaining a strong presence. Moritz Grossmann offers two versions: one in 750/000 rose gold and the other in platinum, adding a touch of luxury to the watch. This three-dimensional case features sapphire crystals on both the front and back, allowing the craftsmanship to be admired from either side.

The crown, a signature of the brand, features a unique mechanism that separates winding and time-setting functions. Pulling it stops the movement, while a pusher at 4 o’clock restarts it, ensuring remarkable precision. The hand-stitched alligator leather strap sits comfortably on the wrist. The watch is water-resistant, although the exact depth is not specified.

Dial: the art of tremblage serving excellence

The dial of the Moritz Grossmann Tremblage Gold is a true work of art, hand-engraved using the traditional tremblage technique. Each dial is made of solid gold (rose gold for the rose gold model, natural gold for the platinum version). This process requires exceptional skill: artisans use a burin to create a fine, uniform texture across the entire surface of the dial, a technique that demands several days of meticulous work.

The numerals, logo, and markers are sculpted in relief and then polished by hand to create a striking contrast with the matte background. This craftsmanship gives each watch a unique character.

Two dial versions are available: one with a black rhodium-plated finish for the rose gold model, and another in natural gold for the platinum version, allowing enthusiasts to choose according to their preferences.

Movement: a feat of traditional mechanics

What truly sets the Moritz Grossmann Tremblage Gold apart is its movement. Powered by the in-house manual-winding calibre 100.1, this watch represents watchmaking precision in its purest form. Comprising 198 components, including 20 jewels and three screwed gold chatons, the movement offers breathtaking mechanical beauty.

Its design draws from Glashütte traditions: a large untreated German silver 2/3 plate, pillars, and a massive balance wheel beating at 18,000 vibrations per hour. The 42-hour power reserve reflects ongoing refinement in technology and materials.

The calibre 100.1 also features a variable inertia balance, a micrometric adjustment mechanism, and high-end finishing such as polished gold chatons, brown-violet heat-treated screws, and finely polished bevels.

To celebrate the 200th anniversary of Moritz Grossmann, the balance wheel bears a special engraving “1826,” the birth year of the renowned watchmaker.

Availability and price: a highly limited edition

The Moritz Grossmann Tremblage Gold stands out not only for its technical and aesthetic qualities but also for its rarity. Production is strictly limited to eight pieces per version, making it highly desirable among collectors.

The price has yet to be confirmed, though it is certain that this haute horology piece will be reserved for a very exclusive clientele.
