Rory McIlroy’s 2026 Masters Watch Makes His Other Omegas Seem Basic

Rory McIlroy just made golf history. Again. The Northern Irishman captured his second consecutive Masters Tournament on Sunday at Augusta National, becoming just the fourth player ever to win back-to-back green jackets.

It was a tournament full of drama – McIlroy built a commanding six-shot lead through 36 holes, only to see it evaporate during a shaky third round that left him tied with Cameron Young entering Sunday.

After his lead collapsed on Saturday, McIlroy drew scrutiny when he told reporters he planned to play like someone who already owns a green jacket. Some called it arrogant. McIlroy called it confidence. He backed it up on Sunday, overcoming an early deficit to hold off Scottie Scheffler by one stroke and slip on the green jacket for the second year running.

And when he did, watch enthusiasts noticed something special on his wrist – not the crowd-favorite Omega Speedmaster Silver Snoopy he wore during last year’s historic career Grand Slam win, but something far rarer and more significant: the Omega De Ville Tourbillon Co-Axial Master Chronometer.

An epic watch for an epic moment

This isn’t the first time McIlroy has strapped on this particular timepiece for a big occasion.

The golfer has previously shared that he purchased the Omega De Ville Tourbillon as a gift to himself after winning his second FedEx Cup in 2019, and he’s been spotted wearing it at select high-profile moments ever since. It appears to be a deeply personal piece for McIlroy – one he reserves for occasions that feel worthy of it.

But let’s be clear, it’s not the kind of watch you stumble across at your local Omega boutique. Even if you could afford to spend a quarter of a million dolloars on a watch, this is a numbered edition crafted by a small team of watchmakers at Omega’s dedicated Atelier in Switzerland, making each De Ville Tourbillon essentially a handmade work of art.
