It’s always five o’clock somewhere. And Seiko seems to have taken that rather literally with its latest Presage Cocktail Time GMT watches, which have finally landed in the UK.
Now, cocktails and watches might not seem like the most obvious pairing. But Seiko has been mixing the two for years. The Cocktail Time collection takes inspiration from the drinks themselves, with textured dials designed to catch the light like a cocktail glass and hour markers inspired by barware. And the latest three additions are no different.
First on the menu is the HCB004, inspired by the classic Cuban Daiquiri. It’s the most traditional of the bunch, with an off-white dial, yellow-gold-tone stainless-steel case and matching bracelet. Yours for £580.
Fancy something a little stronger? The HCB005 takes its cues from the Corcovado, a tequila and blue curaçao concoction. Its deep blue dial is paired with a rose-gold-tone case and brown leather strap. That’ll be £590, please.
And finally, the HCB006. Created to celebrate Seiko’s 145th anniversary, this limited-edition model takes inspiration from the Edo Murasaki, a cocktail dreamed up with STAR BAR owner Hisashi Kishi. There’s a purple dial, a gold-coloured GMT hand and just 6,000 pieces worldwide. At £540, it’s also the cheapest round.
Of course, there’s some great Seiko watchmaking going on beneath all those cocktail references. Each model has a 40.5mm case, Seiko’s automatic 4R34 movement, a 41-hour power reserve and a GMT function for tracking a second time zone.
All three are now available through Seiko boutiques and authorised retailers worldwide.
We’ll drink to that.
