Glasgow-based property management firm Newton Property Management has appointed Martin Brown as its first non-executive director.
Martin brings more than 30 years’ experience building and scaling businesses, having founded Fleet Alliance and led its growth into a major UK leasing provider.
He remains involved in the business following its sale in 2025.
In his new role, he will provide strategic oversight as Newton continues to expand its operations across Scotland.
Martin said: “I’m excited to join Newton Property Management as its first non-executive director at this pivotal time.
“Not only will I bring my experience in fostering business growth, but I’ll bring an external perspective.
“Newton is shaking things up and doing things differently in a sector that has been stagnant for years, so it’s the opportune time to be on this journey with them.
“To echo Vinnie, my main reason for saying yes to this role is the synergy between how I do business and how Newton does business, thanks to our shared values.
“This is a strong foundation to build from, and I can’t wait to see what we achieve together.”
Martin’s appointment marks a key milestone for the company as it strengthens its board and supports long-term growth across its property portfolio.
Vincent Goldie, chief executive of Newton Property Management, added: “Martin is a standout addition to our board as he comes from a strong commercial background and has an extensive network.
“We were in discussions with him for a long time, and we are honoured that he accepted the position.
“His decision to join reflects both the strength of our business today and the ambition we have for the future.
“We were deliberate in finding someone who aligns with our values as well as our ambitions and Martin is the perfect fit.
“We’ve built a relationship with mutual respect at its core.
“For us, that’s the difference between a good board and a truly excellent board.
“Martin offers a fresh perspective outside the world of property management, and this, coupled with his expertise in scaling businesses and navigating complex growth journeys, will be invaluable to the Newton of tomorrow as we work towards our goal of becoming the best factor in Scotland.”
Stephen O’Neill, chairman of Newton Property Management, added: “Martin is one of our best signings to date and he’ll work closely alongside Vinnie to continue the excellent progress he is already making.”
