Jonathan Miller Teams Up with The Real Deal to Expand Reach of Influential Housing Data

Jonathan Miller, one of the most respected voices in residential real estate analysis, is partnering with The Real Deal to bring his widely followed market insights to a broader audience. The collaboration marks a significant shift for Miller’s long-running New York City housing report, which for more than three decades has served as a key benchmark for industry professionals, investors, and policymakers.

Under the new partnership, Miller’s quarterly NYC market report will be published as The Real Deal Report, prepared by Jonathan Miller. The report, long associated with Douglas Elliman, has been widely regarded as the “report of record” for residential market trends in the city. It will continue to be released under embargo to media outlets, maintaining its role as a closely watched source of market-moving data.

Beyond the quarterly report, Miller will contribute regular commentary to The Real Deal, offering analysis on local, national, and global forces shaping the housing market. His widely read “Housing Notes” column will now appear on the publication’s platform multiple times per week, alongside video content and participation in industry events. Readers will also have the option to subscribe directly to his newsletter, further expanding access to his insights.

The partnership also integrates Miller’s latest venture, StreetMatrix, into The Real Deal’s data offerings. StreetMatrix provides hyper-local housing data and analytics, currently focused on select markets, including California, with plans for national expansion. This data will be made available to The Real Deal’s subscribers, enhancing the publication’s suite of real estate intelligence tools.

Industry leaders view the collaboration as a natural fit. Miller’s reputation for independent, data-driven analysis complements The Real Deal’s position as a leading source of real estate news and market intelligence. Together, the two aim to deliver deeper insights and more comprehensive coverage to a readership that includes brokers, developers, investors, and financial institutions.

Miller, who co-founded appraisal firm Miller Samuel in 1986, has long been a trusted authority in housing market analysis. His reports are widely used by government agencies, including the Federal Reserve and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, as well as major financial institutions. He also serves as Director of Markets for StreetMatrix and teaches market analysis at Columbia University.

For The Real Deal, the partnership strengthens its position as a go-to platform for real estate professionals seeking timely data and expert perspective. By incorporating Miller’s research and commentary, the publication is expanding its ability to provide actionable insights in an increasingly complex housing market.
