Real estate industry professionals will know Muller from his one-time role as CEO of Pareto Limited, which owns landmark assets like Menlyn Park and The Pavilion shopping centre, and holds stakes in Sandton City and Tyger Valley malls.

He is also a former president of both the SA Council of Shopping Centres and the South African Property Owners Association, or Sapoa.
Muller is now a proponent of social housing, is undertaking a doctorate in real estate, and lectures at Wits University. He is also involved in the Reside Summit, which focuses on the residential property sector and social housing.
