Grady’s Emerie White wins five gold medals at area track meet

Grady freshman Emerie White racked up five gold medals during the Districts 5-1A/6-1A Area Track and Field Meet, Thursday in Dawson.

White won four individual events with the 200 meters (27.54 seconds), the 400 (1:04.14), the long jump (16 feet, 9 inches) and the triple jump (34-10.50).

She also teamed with Alyssa Oviedo, Raylee O’Donnell, and Macie Stack to win the 1,600 relay (4:27.45).

Stack cleared 8-0 to win the pole vault.

The Lady Cats placed second (125) behind meet champion Borden County (136) in the team standings.

The top four finishers in each event moved on to the Region I-1A meet, May 1-2 in Levelland.

400 relay – 4. Grady (Ledford, Cole Braker, Jack Salazar, Wyatt Creech), 46.26

200 – 1. Emerie White, 27.54 seconds
