NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) – A Lufkin pediatrician accused of killing a man and critically injuring his wife in a January crash has bonded out of jail.
Dr. George Steven Fidone, 65, of Lufkin, was arrested on two warrants charging him with intoxicated manslaughter with a vehicle, which carried a $400,000 bond, and intoxication assault with a vehicle causing serious bodily injury, a $100,000 bond, according to judicial records. He bonded out on Thursday, April 30.
Fidone was arrested after the wreck on January 17, 2026. He tested positive for alcohol, opioids and THC, according to the probable cause affidavit.
Bond had been revoked for Fidone on April 18 after he is accused of violating bond conditions after repeatedly drinking and trying to drive, according to a motion filed on April 17.
