Gold Eventually Breaks $4000 Support

Gold fell sharply on Friday to eventually clearly break psychological $4000 support (after a number of failures in this zone) hitting the lowest since early October 2025, following violation of next round-figure support at $3900.

Persistently high oil prices continue to fuel inflation concerns that prompted most of major central banks to take more hawkish stance (although most of them kept rates unchanged in the latest policy meeting) and deflated gold price.

Gold is on track for the biggest daily loss since Sep 28, also for the third consecutive week in red and second straight monthly loss that altogether contribute to increasingly bearish picture.

Loss of $4000 support has sparked strong move lower after triggering stops, parked below this level, with clear break of former 2026 low (3942) to generate signal of bearish continuation (downtrend from new record high at $5598).

Gold can extend losses towards $3600 zone (around 50% of $1613/$5598) if negative sentiment persists, with pauses on profit-taking to mark positioning for fresh push lower.

Broken support at $3942 / $4000 reverted to immediate resistance, with weekly close below $4000 needed to justify bearish signal.
