Debevoise & Plimpton has hired secondaries lawyer Mary Lavelle to join the firm as a partner in London.
Lavelle joins the private fund transactions and investment management groups. She was previously global co-head of the private funds and secondaries group at Freshfields, where she was a partner for less than three years after decamping from Akin Gump.
“Our client relationships are global, and Mary’s arrival will further enhance our ability to offer integrated, market-informed advice across geographies,” said Rebecca Silberstein, global chair of the investment management group at Debevoise, in a statement.
