DeFi Technologies announced that its asset management subsidiary, Valour, secured approximately $11 million in institutional investment across its Hedera (HBAR) exchange-traded products, marking a significant step in expanding regulated digital asset exposure through traditional financial markets.
The investment includes $10 million allocated to Valour’s Hedera ETP listed on Börse Frankfurt and $1 million into Valour Hedera SEK on Sweden’s Spotlight Exchange. These transactions were executed based on market value at the time of purchase and were originated through DeFi Technologies’ Abu Dhabi Insights Symposium.
The announcement reflects increasing institutional appetite for regulated, exchange-traded access to digital assets, particularly for Hedera’s native token, HBAR. The investments also highlight Germany as a key growth market for Valour’s expanding assets under management, reinforcing Börse Frankfurt as a strategic venue for digital asset ETP adoption.
DeFi Technologies attributes part of this momentum to its DEFT Valour Investment Opportunity Index, known as the DVIO Index, which launched in January 2026. The index tracks the top 50 crypto assets within Valour’s ETP ecosystem based on assets under management, with weekly adjustments driven by capital allocation trends and net flow momentum. The index is designed to serve as a real-time indicator of where institutional and retail capital is flowing within the digital asset landscape.
The company emphasized that the investments demonstrate how its product platform, combined with proprietary market intelligence and investor engagement, can translate institutional conviction into capital formation. The DVIO Index also plays a role in identifying emerging digital assets gaining traction among sophisticated investors, helping guide both research coverage and investment focus.
Growth in assets under management remains a key driver for Valour’s business model, as revenue is generated through management fees tied to its ETP offerings. Increasing AUM not only expands the company’s fee base but also enhances operating leverage and long-term monetization potential.
For the broader Hedera ecosystem, the investment signals rising institutional recognition and credibility. As investors seek exposure to digital assets through familiar and regulated investment vehicles, ETPs are expected to play an increasingly important role in bridging traditional finance and decentralized ecosystems.
Valour’s Hedera ETPs provide exposure to HBAR through standard brokerage and banking platforms, offering a compliant and accessible entry point for both institutional and retail investors. DeFi Technologies continues to position itself at the intersection of traditional capital markets and decentralized finance by combining regulated product issuance with market intelligence tools and strategic investor engagement.
KEY QUOTES:
“The strength of our ETP platform is not only in providing regulated access to digital assets, but in helping surface where institutional demand is forming. These investments into Valour’s Hedera ETPs demonstrate how the combination of our product suite of a world leading 102 digital asset underlying ETPs, and the DVIO Index can translate conviction into capital formation. We believe this is a strong signal for Hedera (HBAR) and a meaningful step forward in the continued growth of our AUM in Germany. This significant institutional injection of capital qualifies Hedera (HBAR) for extended research coverage in the periodic DVIO Index InFocus reports as well as intensive analysis during our live, in-person, DeFi Technologies Insights Global Symposia Capital Markets Roadshow sessions. The Capital Markets Roadshow is an informational session that takes place during symposia which analyzes and highlights the investment and technological value of digital assets that underpin select Valour ETPs.”
