Breguet refreshes its Marine 5517 and Marine Chronographe 5527.
New versions feature hand-guilloché “Quai de l’Horloge” dials.
White gold, rose gold and titanium cases span three-hand and flyback chronograph formats.
Breguet has unveiled new iterations of two flagship models within its iconic Marine collection: the Marine 5517 three-hand model and the Marine Chronographe 5527. Anchored in the house’s historic appointment in 1815 as Watchmaker to the French Royal Navy under Abraham-Louis Breguet, the updated designs balance maritime heritage with modern luxury. Both models introduce subtle architectural updates, such as repositioning the date window to 6 o’clock to enhance dial symmetry, alongside a gold applique at 12 o’clock and signature maritime details like a wave-shaped crown guard and a seconds hand counterweight shaped like the nautical “Bravo” flag.
The Marine 5517 keeps the collection at its most streamlined with a 40mm case, three-hand display and date window repositioned to 6 o’clock for greater symmetry. Its gold dial is decorated by hand with Breguet’s “Quai de l’Horloge” guilloché, a motif introduced for the Maison’s 250th anniversary and inspired by both the contours of Paris’ Île de la Cité and Île Saint-Louis and the movement of water. The white-gold edition receives an ice-blue dial, the rose-gold version is rendered in black, and the titanium model adopts blue, with Breguet numerals, “apple” hands and nautical cues including a seconds hand referencing the “Bravo” maritime flag. The 42.3mm Marine Chronographe 5527 develops the same visual language around a flyback chronograph, now using two counters at 3 and 9 o’clock for elapsed minutes and small seconds, alongside the date at 6. Its hand-guilloché dial appears in blue-gradient treatments for the white- and rose-gold models and a grey gradient for titanium.
Powering the 5517 is Breguet’s self-winding Calibre 777A, running at 4 Hz with a 55-hour power reserve, while the 5527 uses the automatic Calibre 582QA, pairing its flyback chronograph with a 48-hour reserve. Both watches are water-resistant to 100 meters and expose their movements through sapphire casebacks, where a gold oscillating weight shaped in reference to a ship’s rudder continues the nautical theme.
The new models are available through Breguet boutiques and authorized retailers, with prices for the the 5517 ranging from $26,400 USD in titanium on rubber and $30,000 USD on titanium bracelet. Meanwhile the white- and rose-gold editions are $48,900 USD on rubber and $80,300 USD on bracelet. As for the 5527, the model retails between $33,000 USD in titanium on rubber and $36,600 USD on bracelet, rising to $59,400 USD for either gold version on rubber and $93,900 USD on bracelet.
