Graziela Paulino dos Santos doubles up on gold even as El Salvador rules final day in Santiago

Brazil’s Graziela Paulino dos Santos continued her impressive form in Santiago, defeating local favourite Javiera Andrades at the second stage of the Grand Prix of the Americas – adding a world ranking event title to the South American Championships gold she won the day before.

The 153rd-ranked dos Santos, part of Brazil’s recurve women’s team’s silver medal win at the Medellin 2025 South American Open Championships, delivered a dominant 6-0 victory with ends of 26, 30 and 27 in the recurve women’s individual final.

The double gold in Santiago marks her first individual wins since her title at the XI Juegos Suramericanos 2018 World Ranking Event

Otherwise, the final day of the world ranking event belonged to El Salvador, that claimed five gold medals two of them courtesy of Oscar Ticas.

The 76th-ranked Ticas showed strong fighting spirit and composure under pressure to overcome Toral Pérez Pablo Ricardo 6-4 in a thrilling recurve men’s individual final, where lead kept exchanging hands.

The win is his first gold of the season, following a silver medal at the first leg of the Grand Prix of the Americas at San Salvador. He also paired with Jocelyn Urias to win the recurve mixed team gold against Brazil, in Santiago.
