Great Plains Metals’ South Australian partner finds district-scale copper-gold system

Great Plains Metals Corp (TSX-V:GPS, FRA:8VC0) said a maiden field campaign at its North Gawler Craton Project in South Australia has identified widespread outcropping copper mineralization, with high-grade samples returning up to 31.1% copper.

The project is managed by joint-venture partner Eversley Resources Pty Limited, in which Great Plains holds a 37.1% equity stake with an option to increase its ownership.

Surface mapping has uncovered a large belt of exposed igneous rock in South Australia, suggesting the copper system lies near the surface rather than buried deep underground.

Selective grab samples from historical workings at the Coominaree prospect returned peak values of 31.1% copper, 1.07 grams per tonne gold and 39.5 grams per tonne silver.

At the Warloan prospect, samples returned up to 29.2% copper, 1.48 grams per tonne gold and 22.4 grams per tonne silver.

Eversley has picked three prospects for follow-up work: Coominaree, where old mine pits and copper-in-soil anomalies stretch over at least 700 metres; Warloan-Victory, a roughly 5 square kilometre area with outcropping quartz lodes and mineralization extending about 350 metres; and Last Chance, where a copper-in-soil anomaly runs more than 600 metres around a newly identified intrusive and alteration center.

A follow-up field campaign focused on detailed mapping and drill targeting at Coominaree and Warloan-Victory is underway. Assay results are expected in December and will help define targets for a drill program planned for the April to October 2027 field season.

Great Plains raised its stake in Eversley from 24.4% to 37.1% in April 2026 through sequential tranches of exploration funding totaling A$500,000. It holds an option to invest a further A$750,000, contingent on drilling permit approvals, to increase its equity stake.

The North Gawler Craton Project gives the company exposure to a 2,329 square kilometre land package.

Great Plains’ flagship asset remains the Goodrich Project in New South Wales, where it holds a 51% interest and is advancing toward 70%.

“The identification of multiple outcropping copper occurrences associated with intrusive bodies across this regional-scale corridor represents a significant new shift in the technical direction of the North Gawler Craton Project,” said Peeyush Varshney, CEO of Great Plains Metals.

“This dual-track approach gives our shareholders simultaneous exposure to near-term drill catalysts at Goodrich, in the Lachlan Fold Belt and grassroots district-scale discovery potential in South Australia,” Varshney added.
