Yaroslava Mahuchikh has won the European title in the high jump for the third consecutive time, clearing 1.97 meters.
According to Ukrinform, Poland’s Maria Zodzik won silver with a clearance of 1.95 meters, while Montenegro’s Marija Vukovic took bronze at 1.95 meters, finishing lower based on the number of attempts.
Ukraine’s Iryna Herashchenko finished fifth with a result of 1.92 meters.
This is Ukraine’s fourth medal at the 2026 European Athletics Championships. Earlier, Mykhailo Kokhan won bronze in the hammer throw, Oleh Doroshchuk took silver in the high jump, and Liudmyla Olianovska won bronze in the half marathon race walk with a national record.
At the previous European Championships in Rome in 2024, Ukrainian athletes won six medals: one gold (Yaroslava Mahuchikh), one silver (Vladyslav Lavskyy), and four bronze medals (Oleh Doroshchuk, Mykhailo Kokhan, Iryna Herashchenko, and Liudmyla Olianovska).
The next European Athletics Championships will be held from June 3 to 8, 2028, at the Silesian Stadium in Chorzow, Poland.
