White Gold discovers copper at Lost Pup

White Gold Corp. March 12 reported the discovery of copper mineralization at the newly identified Lost Pup target on the company’s Hen property in west-central Yukon, where initial bedrock sampling returned grades of up to 0.96% copper.

Located roughly 95 kilometers (59 miles) south of Dawson City, Hen lies within the White Gold District, where the company holds a 305,102-hectare (753,900-acre) land package spanning 21 properties that cover roughly 40% of the prospective district in Yukon’s mineral-rich Dawson Range.

Within this broader portfolio, Hen hosts several exploration targets, including Titan and the newly identified Lost Pup showing.

Identified in late 2025 after reports of copper mineralization exposed in a creek by placer mining activity, Lost Pup lies roughly four kilometers (2.5 miles) southeast of Titan along a roughly six-kilometer (4-mile) corridor. The company believes this corridor may host a broader mineralized trend with potential for both high-grade gold and copper-gold systems.

Follow-up prospecting and sampling confirmed copper mineralization in bedrock exposed in the area, with chip sampling returning copper values of up to 0.96%, 0.94%, 0.61%, and 0.52% copper.

“The discovery of high-grade copper mineralization at Lost Pup is an exciting new development, and yet another example of the abundant opportunities, in addition to the company’s large and growing high grade gold resource, within our truly district scale property portfolio comprised of 21 properties covering over 300,000 hectares in the prolific and under explored White Gold District, which is now seeing a renaissance of interest based on recent exploration success and the advancement of significant projects in the area,” said White Gold CEO David D’Onofrio. “The discovery’s location along the same mineralized corridor as our high-grade Titan gold discovery makes it even more significant.”

Additionally, several samples also returned elevated silver values of up to 15.1 g/t silver that correlate positively with copper mineralization and may indicate the presence of primary sulfide mineralization within the system.

“The combination of high-grade gold, widespread copper mineralization, and a classic porphyry geochemical signature provides compelling evidence that this structural trend is a major mineralizing system,” said D’Onofrio. “This new discovery expands the footprint of this system and underscores the vast potential of the Hen property, which is ideally located in the heart of the White Gold District.”

With the discovery now confirmed at surface, the company said follow-up work will focus on additional field mapping and sampling to better understand the extent of mineralization and identify potential drill targets.

Results from further exploration across White Gold’s Yukon properties, along with details of its planned 2026 exploration program, are expected to be released as work progresses.
