Houlihan Lokey, the global investment bank, has strengthened its FinTech advisory capabilities with the appointment of Chris McMillan as a managing director focused on digital assets.
McMillan joins the firm’s FinTech Group from 3V Capital Partners, the boutique advisory firm he founded to work with technology companies on M&A, capital markets and strategic matters. His work has focused on blockchain and digital assets, as well as AI infrastructure and software.
The appointment brings further blockchain expertise to Houlihan Lokey as financial institutions explore how the technology can be incorporated into products and services.
McMillan previously served as head of blockchain and co-head of internet investment banking at Credit Suisse. He brings experience spanning M&A, capital markets and strategic advisory to his new role.
Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, McMillan will work across Houlihan Lokey’s FinTech and Financial Services banking teams, advising clients on opportunities within the digital assets sector.
The firm’s FinTech Group has close to 40 finance professionals covering the global FinTech market, with expertise spanning technology and financial services. Houlihan Lokey said its bankers combine sector-specific knowledge with senior advisory experience across individual FinTech verticals.
The firm was named the leading M&A advisor for global FinTech transactions in 2025 by PitchBook, according to Houlihan Lokey.
Alec Ellison, global head of Houlihan Lokey’s FinTech Group, said McMillan’s knowledge of the digital assets ecosystem and relationships across the blockchain sector would strengthen the firm’s advisory capabilities.
McMillan said he would work with the firm’s FinTech team to help clients navigate strategic opportunities in digital assets.
