Martha Stewart Ditches Blonde Bob, Debuts Rose Gold Hair Transformation

Martha Stewart debuted an unexpected hair refresh over the weekend. On August 9, the lifestyle maven, 85, swapped her signature light blonde bob for a rose gold hair transformation courtesy of Chris Appleton.

In a video posted to Appleton’s Instagram account, Stewart shared a glimpse at her playful new look from all angles. The video featured Stewart mouthing along to a Meryl Streep quote from The Devil Wears Prada 2 while sitting in a white robe with Appleton at her side. “Pull yourself together,” the voiceover said. “We have work to do. And by we, I mean you.”

A second later, the clip cut to Appleton fluffing Stewart’s freshly-dyed hair. Smiling, Stewart turned her head in all directions to show off the subtle pink finish and warm blonde undertones.

To achieve Stewart’s look, Appleton began by adding bright highlights to her hair using BlondMe Premium Lightener 9+ with 20 Volume Developer by Schwarzkopf Professional, per a press release. Next, the celebrity hairstylist used the brand’s Igora Vibrance 9.5-19 + 9.5-5, blended with 0-00 Clear to soften the color and create the glossy finish.

Stewart’s new hair color marks her first major hair transformation since February, when she partnered with Appleton to create a voluminous updo with honey-blonde extensions and a chic side part. “Challenge accepted,” Appleton captioned a video of Stewart showing off the look on his Instagram account.

A month earlier, the hairstylist dropped another dramatic collaboration with the lifestyle icon. “Did a little transformation yesterday with Martha trying the mocha mousse hair trend color 🤎,” he captioned an Instagram video of Stewart debuting a mocha mousse hair makeover.

While her signature blonde will almost certainly be making a comeback sometime soon, Stewart’s latest hair color is a reminder that it’s never too late for a summer refresh.
