Xbox may finally be introducing its answer to PlayStation’s ‘Platinum Trophies’, with a new ‘Mythic Achievement’ filter spotted by Xbox Insiders.
After years of complacency, Microsoft have been rolling out plenty of updates for the Xbox console platform focused on long-standing user requested features. One of those is to see an equivalent to PlayStation’s ‘Platinum Trophy’.
Back in April, Microsoft revealed new achievement improvements that brought new looks for classic notifications, new icons and new animations. Improvements continued, and in August, Xbox CEO Asha Sharma replied to a fan asking for Xbox to ‘solve the Platinum tophy equivalent’ for achievements. She replied, advising Xbox fans that the team are “working on something for later this year!”.

Now, it appears that time is upon us, as a new ‘Mythic Achievement’ filter has been spotted in the User Interface on consoles with access to the Xbox Insider program.
First spotted by Twitter user “@Muse_Tv“, the platform now shows off both ‘Completed’ and ‘Incomplete’ Mythic Achievements. It was soon picked up on my Xbox Achievement hunter ‘Stallion83’, who took a nice screenshot of the new feature.
The name appears to be a reference to Halo’s Mythic skull, and is certainly in keeping with the Xbox platform. But what do you think? Will Mythic achievements see you caring more about achievements again? Let us know in the comments below!
