Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Director Thinks He Made The Platinum Trophy Too Difficult

The director of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Naoki Hamaguchi, shared in a recent interview that he looks back on the requirements players needed to obtain the platinum trophy for the game and admits he and his team made the process far too difficult.

In the interview, Hamaguchi was asked what he would do differently during the development of the game, and he immediately pointed to the list of trophies as the culprit that he would like a do-over on.

Hamaguchi shared that the team unintentionally built a system where in order to earn the platinum trophy, you needed to master every aspect of the game, rather than giving players more of a choice of what to do on the side. He claims the whole process became a bit excessive for players going for the full competition.

Hamaguchi and his team are very busy, as the third and final part in the trilogy, simply titled Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3, for the time being, is on the way and inching closer to a full reveal that is expected to take place in a matter of weeks.

Hamaguchi also went on to share that he has made sure that the finale sequel will have a much more forgiving platinum trophy this time around. This will definitely encourage fans who were unable to obtain the Rebirth platinum a chance to close out the trilogy in style with a much easier path to full completion.

The highly-anticipated finale of this fan-favorite series is nearing completion, and clearly Hamaguchi and his team have learned lessons from their development on Rebirth, and they now have an excellent chance to create a trophy list that is accessible to all players and much less exclusive to acquire.
