A school is celebrating after receiving a prestigious sporting award for the fifth year in a row.
Theale Green School has been awarded the Platinum School Games Mark Award, putting it among only 190 schools nationally that have received the accolade for five consecutive years out of more than 25,000 primary and secondary schools across England.

The School Games Mark is a government-led award scheme, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust, which recognises schools for their commitment to providing high-quality sporting opportunities and promoting active lifestyles.
The Platinum Award is the highest accolade available and celebrates excellence across participation, competition, leadership, inclusion and physical wellbeing.
Theale Green School earned the award for its dedication to ensuring all students have access to a wide range of sporting opportunities, encouraging participation at every level while developing young leaders, volunteers and role models through sport.
It also reflects the passion, hard work and commitment of the school’s PE and sport department, staff, students and wider community.
Director of sport and PE at Theale Green School Tony Blinco said: “To receive the Platinum School Games Mark for a fifth consecutive year is an incredible achievement and one that everyone connected with the school should be immensely proud of.
“Sport and physical activity play a vital role in school life at Theale Green and this award reflects the dedication of our students, staff, volunteers and leaders who continually strive to create opportunities for others.
“Being recognised among such a small number of schools nationally is a testament to the culture we have built and our commitment to helping every young person enjoy and benefit from being active.”
Headteacher Charlotte Badarello said: “We are absolutely delighted to have achieved the Platinum School Games Mark for a fifth year and are incredibly proud to be recognised among the very best schools in the country.
“We are especially pleased that this award reflects the wide-ranging opportunities available to our students, enabling them to participate in sport and physical activity in ways that suit their interests, abilities and aspirations.”
The award recognises not only competitive success but also the school’s commitment to inclusion and ensuring that every student has the opportunity to participate in physical activity, regardless of ability or background.
