Aftermath Silver engages Washington-based strategic advisor for Berenguela project, forms advisory board

Aftermath Silver Ltd (TSX-V:AAG, OTCQX:AAGFF, FRA:FLM1) announced that it has entered into a strategic advisory engagement with Global Frontier Advisors, a Washington, D.C.-based firm whose partners include former senior US military officers, diplomats, and business executives, as the company seeks to advance its Berenguela silver-copper-manganese project in Peru.

The company also announced that it has established an Advisory Board and appointed three founding GFA partners as its inaugural members: Lieutenant General David Bellon, Lieutenant General Michael Groen and Ambassador James “Jimmy” Story.

According to the company, the Advisory Board will support the strategic positioning of the wholly owned Berenguela project and related downstream development initiatives being pursued through the company’s newly formed US subsidiary, US Critical Minerals Corp (USCMC).

Aftermath is exploring potential partnerships, offtake agreements, and funding opportunities aimed at advancing the project while aligning with US efforts to strengthen critical mineral supply chains.

The company views Berenguela as a potential future source of silver, copper, and manganese for US-aligned battery, defense, and industrial supply chains.

“Working with GFA, we are confident that the Berenguela story will continue to reach the right decision-makers in Washington and that the project is recognized as a crucial strategic international asset,” Aftermath’s executive chairman Michael Williams said in a statement.

“At Berenguela, Aftermath is developing a potentially large Western Hemisphere silver-copper-manganese feedstock source and has assembled the right people with the right technical capabilities to execute development of the project.”

Bellon, who will serve on the newly formed Advisory Board, highlighted both the economic and strategic aspects of the project, noting that a US-based critical metals processing facility could support domestic manufacturing and supply chain development across industries such as batteries, cathode production, and grid-scale energy storage.

Ambassador Story described the formation of the Advisory Board as an important step in connecting Aftermath’s technical and commercial efforts with US government stakeholders.

“It connects senior GFA advisors who have deep national security and critical-minerals expertise with the Aftermath team, and positions Aftermath to advance Berenguela, helping to establish a domestic, allied supply chain for a critical battery and defense materials, and building long-term value for Aftermath’s shareholders,” Ambassador Story said.

Aftermath said the appointments provide USCMC with access to expertise and relationships across US national security, defense, energy, and development finance sectors. The company believes the advisory team could help facilitate engagement with government agencies and identify potential funding and procurement opportunities, including programs administered through the Defense Production Act, the US Department of Energy, the Export-Import Bank of the United States, and the US International Development Finance Corporation.

The three advisory board members bring backgrounds in military leadership, national security, technology strategy, and diplomacy.

Bellon previously served as Commander of Marine Forces South and Commander of the Marine Corps Reserve. Groen concluded a 36-year Marine Corps career as Director of the Department of Defense’s Joint Artificial Intelligence Center, while Story served as US Ambassador to Venezuela and held several senior diplomatic posts across Latin America and Africa.
