SAN ANTONIO – A downtown ramp is expected to be closed for hours after a trailer attached to an 18-wheeler rolled over and spilled oil on the road.
The crash happened around 2:40 a.m. on the ramp from southbound Interstate 35 to westbound Interstate 10, known as the Finesilver Curve.
Crews are currently in the process of removing the spilled oil from the ramp. As of 6:50 a.m., the ramp is still closed.
According to San Antonio police, the driver of the 18-wheeler, a 64-year-old man, failed to remain in one lane due to speed.
A trailer hauled by the 18-wheeler then collided with another vehicle, which caused the trailer to roll over, SAPD said.
The ramp is expected to be closed for around the next four hours, a Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) spokesperson told KSAT.
Officers said there were some minor injuries following the crash.
This is a developing story. Check back later for updates.
