The auctioning of a vast array of quality jewellery, watches, and silverware in Somerset has resulted in significant sales.
The Somerset Auction Rooms recently held the sale, where items of notable interest fetched high prices.
Among the most sought-after was a collection of George III sterling silver flatware, which sold for £3,100.
This collection featured pieces from renowned makers like Randle Chatterton, John Lias, and Solomon Hougham.
A Victorian sterling silver tea service, hallmarked in London in 1872, sold for £2,500, despite the coffee pot having a broken handle.
The service, designed in a neo-classical style, included a teapot, cream jug, and sugar bowl.
A Patek Philippe 18ct gold hunter pocket watch, in good condition, was another highlight, selling for £2,850.
A vintage Seiko ‘Pogue’ Chronograph wristwatch from the 1970s, which was not working but came with its original box, fetched £370.

The ‘Pogue’ nickname was attributed to this model after NASA astronaut William Pogue took a Seiko 6139 with a yellow dial into space, marking it as the first automatic chronograph to make this journey.
In the silver section, an Art Deco sterling silver tea service sold for £1,650.
An 18ct gold Swiss open-face pocket watch, presented to Mr F.J. Reed, honorary secretary of Bridgwater Albion FC in 1904, and despite missing its glass face, sold for £1,300.
Reed later became the mayor of the town in the 1930s.
An antique 9ct gold double belcher link chain fetched £1,200.
A 9ct gold opal and diamond wreath brooch was sold for £600, while two plain 22ct gold wedding bands made £750.
Another 22ct gold plain wedding band sold for £400.
Also in the silverware section, a Victorian sterling silver bachelor’s tea service achieved £880, and a selection of George V sterling silver fish knives and forks sold for £750.
A George V sterling silver bachelor’s tea service made £600, whilst a George V sterling silver coffee pot, hallmarked London 1911, sold for £500.
A Mappin & Webb novelty bee honey pot with silver-plated wings, thorax, and legs made £300.
