At 7.40pm on Saturday, police were called to reports of concerns for the welfare of two children on the Britannia Railway Bridge.
“On arrival, the pair had already climbed down and fled the scene,” a Cheshire Police spokesperson said.
Residents reported police, fire and ambulance crews on either sides of the Silver Jubilee Bridge.
