Thetford received a Silver-Gilt Award in the Large Town Category at the 2026 Anglia in Bloom Awards, making it the only town in Breckland to earn the honour.
Councillor Vic Peters, Mayor of Thetford, said: “Being awarded a Silver-Gilt Award is a wonderful achievement for Thetford.
“It reflects the dedication of our volunteers, local schoolchildren, council officers, support from local businesses and everyone who has helped our town flourish.
“This year’s displays have combined creativity, community partnerships and care for the environment, and we are incredibly proud of what the community has achieved together.”
The Thetford in Bloom entry celebrated 100 Years of Winnie-the-Pooh.
A wooden bear sculpture now sits on a permanent bench in the town centre, alongside a display of beehive and pollinator-friendly themed planters.
Horticultural and conservation volunteers, along with schoolchildren and businesses, contributed to the project.
The award adds to a strong year for Thetford Town Council, which also received a Quality Gold Award from the National Association of Local Councils.
