Crypto News Today: Binance Outflows, Bitcoin Buying and Altcoin Updates

Crypto markets are trying to stabilize after the $6.3 billion Binance hack, but investor caution remains visible across exchanges and investment products. Binance has reopened withdrawals and replenished approximately 95% of the affected assets, while customers have withdrawn billions of dollars from the exchange.

At the same time, corporate Bitcoin accumulation continues. Strive added 124 BTC, BitMine expanded its Ethereum treasury, and several altcoin developments are drawing attention, from Cardano’s network upgrades to NEAR’s proposed token supply reduction.

Here are the biggest crypto stories to follow on November 2, 2026.

1. Binance faces billions in withdrawals after hack

Binance recorded approximately $4.72 billion in net customer withdrawals after reopening services on November 1. DefiLlama separately tracked more than $7 billion in 24-hour outflows from Binance-linked wallets.

The exchange says it has replenished 95% of the affected assets and is working to replace the remaining less liquid tokens. The FBI has attributed the $6.3 billion attack to North Korea’s TraderTraitor group.

2. Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs see heavy outflows

US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded approximately $643.3 million in net outflows on October 30, their largest daily withdrawal since June. Ethereum ETFs also saw $155.9 million leave their products.

The withdrawals reflect cautious investor sentiment following recent market volatility and the Binance incident.

3. Strive and Strategy continue buying Bitcoin

Strive added 124 BTC at an average price of $80,526, bringing its total holdings to 43,124 BTC. The company used existing cash and tapped its SATS preferred stock program for the first time.

Strategy also purchased 811 BTC for approximately $65.5 million, taking its total holdings to 849,327 BTC.

4. BitMine reaches 4.9% of Ethereum supply

BitMine added another 8,573 ETH, increasing its treasury to 6,060,506 ETH, or approximately 4.9% of Ethereum’s circulating supply.

The company has staked around 86% of its holdings and projects annualized staking revenue of $358 million, potentially increasing to $415 million through its MAVAN platform.

5. Cardano and NEAR advance ecosystem developments

Cardano continues rolling out programmable token features through CIP-0113, while its Dijkstra upgrade and Hydra scaling solution remain important developments for the network.

Meanwhile, NEAR is considering a proposal to reduce maximum annual token issuance from 2.5% to 1.6%. The governance vote is scheduled to close on November 2.

6. Tokenized stocks face resistance from major companies

Around 50 US companies, including Microsoft, Nvidia, JPMorgan, and Alphabet, have objected to the inclusion of their shares on a planned OKX-ICE tokenized stock trading platform.

The dispute highlights ongoing questions about issuer consent, investor protection, and the legal framework for blockchain-based securities.

What to watch next in the crypto market

November begins with two competing trends. The Binance hack has created fresh concerns around exchange security and pushed some investors to reduce exposure, while corporate treasury companies continue buying Bitcoin and Ethereum.

The market will also be watching the outcome of the NEAR governance vote, developments around Cardano’s upgrades, and progress in tokenized financial products.

Bitcoin’s ability to stabilize around the $78,000 area and the return of positive ETF flows could help determine whether the latest market weakness fades. For now, exchange security, institutional demand, and regulatory developments remain the main themes shaping crypto sentiment.
