Specialist finance provider Skipton Business Finance has appointed Phil Sproston as regional sales director for the North West.
Phil joins after almost a decade with Close Brothers Invoice Finance, where he progressed from sales support executive to regional sales director.
For the past six years, he has worked with businesses across the North West to structure working capital and asset-based lending facilities.
In his new role, Phil will lead Skipton Business Finance’s new business activity across the region, working with brokers, accountants and corporate finance advisers to provide tailored funding solutions for SMEs.
His arrival adds further regional experience as the business looks to expand its North West presence and strengthen relationships with companies and introducers.
The role will also support Skipton Business Finance’s wider growth plans as it continues to develop its specialist funding offering for SMEs.
Phil said: “The North West has an incredibly active and supportive business community.
“I’m looking forward to continuing to work with the advisers and business owners I’ve developed relationships with over the years.
“What attracted me to SBF was its willingness to listen and the flexibility it can offer.
“Every business has different plans and priorities, so it is important to look at the whole picture before deciding how best to support them.
“This is an exciting time to join SBF, and I’m looking forward to working with the team and making a positive difference to businesses throughout the region.”
Jim Furey, commercial director (North) at Skipton Business Finance, added: “Phil brings strong commercial judgement, energy and a genuine commitment to achieving the right outcome for each business.
“His approach aligns closely with how we work at SBF.
“I’m delighted to welcome Phil to the team.
“His appointment adds further depth to our regional offering, and I look forward to seeing the contribution he will make.”
