AEA Investors’ Middle Market Private Equity team and British Columbia Investment Management Corporation acquired Rensa Filtration from Audax Private Equity.
Audax will retain a minority stake in Rensa alongside the company’s management team.
Rensa provides highly engineered air filtration solutions for mission-critical environments including data centers, power generation, semiconductor manufacturing, healthcare, and life sciences.
Founder and CEO Brandon Ost established Rensa in 2017.
The Aurora, Illinois-based company has grown into one of the largest privately held U.S. filtration businesses.
Rensa combines proprietary filtration media manufacturing, filter design, technical capabilities, distribution, and local service operations.
Since its formation, the company has expanded through partnerships and acquisitions involving founders and management teams in the filtration industry.
AEA and BCI plan to support additional expansion across North America and Europe.
The growth strategy includes investments in engineering and manufacturing, expansion of Rensa’s services and distribution network, and additional acquisitions.
Audax’s retained ownership position will provide continuity as the company pursues its next stage of expansion.
