IFM Investors’ Amanda Steele says international investors avoid Victoria due to high land taxes


The industry superannuation sector’s infrastructure and property specialist says high taxes and poor governance in Victoria is stopping international investors from spending money in the state, warning a reset is needed to convince major asset managers to have faith in Melbourne.

Speaking at The Australian Financial Review Property Summit, IFM Investors head of property Amanda Steele said Victoria was “a really difficult market for investment at the moment”.
