Kathmandu, Aug 14: Chief secretary of the government, Govinda Bahadur Karki, said government was for prioritizing the promotion of private sector along with reform in law and service delivery, and corruption control.
During the ‘Budget Watch’ programme organized SEJON in the federal capital on Friday, chief secretary Karki reminded that government is committed to addressing the challenges facing the private sector. Good governance and the integration of information technology are equal imperatives to bolster digital governance, according to him.
Karki noted that outdated laws were hindrances to development and business operations. So, new laws would be made and amendment ensured to relevant others.
Safeguarding private property, facilitating business, ensuring stable policies, fostering innovation, enhancing financial access and supporting export activities are some of the activities forwarded by the government, according to him.
In his argument, significant advancements were made in trade facilitation in the past decade. Corruption control and the rule of law are always in government attention. He mentioned ongoing efforts to develop an action plan to escape the international gray list concerning money laundering. (RSS)
