Alex Lyons has joined Christie’s International Real Estate New South Wales as an affiliate partner.

Alex has negotiated more than $3 billion in residential and commercial property transactions over the past decade, according the company’s press release, with his top 10 sales ranging from $40 million to $150 million.

In 2025 alone, he recorded approximately $863 million in sales across 49 deals.

For three consecutive years, he was recognised as his previous network’s number one residential salesperson nationally by sales dollar value.

He joins a Christie’s International Real Estate NSW network that has grown from a dozen agents at its April 2026 launch to 21 agents covering areas from Byron Bay to the South Coast.

Alex is known for his work in Double Bay, Bellevue Hill, Rose Bay, Point Piper and Bondi.

Alex says one in three of his recent buyers have been expats or international purchasers.

“Sydney’s harbourside suburbs have a level of demand you don’t see anywhere else in Australia, and more and more of it is coming from overseas,” he said.

“While local buyers have become more cautious this year, I’m seeing expats coming home from London, New York, Hong Kong and Singapore who have kept an eye on this market for years, as well as foreign buyers who see Sydney as one of the most desirable cities in the world.”

He says that shift has also created an opening for local buyers.

“This is the best opportunity I’ve seen in 10 years to get into the prestige market,” he said. “With fewer local buyers competing, there is genuine room to negotiate on homes that may not come up again for a generation.”

Under the Christie’s banner, Alex’s listings will be syndicated through mastheads including The Wall Street Journal, Mansion Global, Barron’s, Country Life, Nikkei and James Edition, and across the brand’s more than 450 offices in more than 50 countries.

“So much of my business is built on overseas buyers, and Christie’s is the most recognised name in luxury anywhere in the world,” Alex said.

“For my vendors, it means their home is in front of buyers in New York, London and Hong Kong the same week it hits the market here, backed by a brand that buyers at this level already know and trust.”

Christie’s International Real Estate NSW CEO Scott Michaelson said Alex’s arrival strengthens the brand’s presence in the Eastern Suburbs.

“When we launched in April, we set out to bring the best independent prestige agents in NSW under one globally recognised name. Now, six months later, we’ve grown from a dozen agents to 21, and Alex’s arrival is a significant step in that growth.”
