Tangible personal property forms deadline extended

Due to recent winter storms and closures of Prince Edward County governmental offices, the return of tangible personal property forms were delayed and have been mailed this week.
The new deadline for returning a form will now be at the close of business Monday, March 16, according to a news release posted on the Prince Edward County Facebook page.
There are several ways to file, once the form is signed:
• In person to the Commissioner of Revenue, Prince Edward Courthouse, second floor, 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday-Friday.
• By mail to Commissioner of Revenue, P.O. Box 446, Farmville, Virginia 23901.
• Via fax to 434-392-7696.

• On the phone, by calling 434- 392-3231 with the form handy when for the call.
• In the drop box located near the Visitor Center in the courthouse parking lot
Forms not returned by March 16, will automatically be subject to a penalty of 10% on the total tax due, the post explained.
For individuals with high-mileage vehicles, officials reminded residents not to forget that applications for high mileage adjustments also are due March 16.
