Kiko Kostadinov Deliver Another Round of Tabi Runners

For better or worse, it’s fair to say things don’t hit like they used to, but Bulgaria-born, London-based Kiko Kostadinov and ASICS have kept a steady rhythm since their first official colab 2018 – and the Tabi line is where it really starts to split (literally).

First seen during the brand’s FW25 runway show in Paris, the upcoming LYASA FF Tabi strips things back in its entirety. The usual lace setup is switched out for a slip-on build that feels quick and simple, while the design itself pulls from the GEL-heavy brand’s archive, specifically split-toe marathon runners from the 70s, but updates them with a softer, more flexible approach made for everyday wear.

Up top, the upper is built from a stretchy material that wraps close to the foot, cutting down on pressure points thanks to minimal stitching. Coming in ‘Caramel/Rose Gold’ and ‘Carbon Pure Silver’, each drop is designed to feel smooth and natural, more like a sock than a traditional runner. Sliding along, a curved metallic graphic adds a bit of movement, referencing past visual work by American design great Herb Lubalin.
