Jewelry at the Actor Awards: Reimagining Hollywood Glamour

Amid awards season, the Screen Actors Guild Awards, or SAG Awards, has rebranded to become the Actor Awards.

With this change came jewelry looks that reimagined the past.

This year, the awards show partnered with Elle magazine to create a theme for the evening, reimagining Hollywood glamour of the ‘20s and ‘30s.

“I think it’s a great well to keep going back to because it never seems to go out of style, that period. It’s always classic,” Jon Brockett, showrunner and executive producer of the Actor Awards, said in an interview with Elle.

“The idea of giving leeway to talent to reinvent it is also really exciting to us.”

With this theme in mind, the celebrities in attendance wore statement earrings, bold collar necklaces, and, of course, diamonds galore.

When it comes to the red carpet, more is more, and the celebrities at the Actor Awards delivered eye-catching jewels that were anything but boring.

Kate Hudson, an Actor Awards nominee for her role in “Song Sung Blue,” walked the red carpet in a bespoke “Desert Diamonds” high jewelry suite by Emily P. Wheeler.

Wheeler worked closely with Hudson’s longtime stylist Sophie Lopez to design the half-a-million-dollar suite for Hudson.

The standout piece is a collar-style necklace set with 10.15 carats of antique diamonds sitting on the collarbone, 38.73 carats of pavé diamonds, and an asymmetrical fringe of diamonds.

The “Bubble” fringe earrings showcase 2.70 carats of light-brown diamonds accented by 2.24 carats of diamond fringe in Wheeler’s signature “Bubble” effect.

The suite also includes three rings. There are two circular “Bubble” statement rings with gems sourced from Botswana—one with a 3.09-carat Desert diamond and the other with a 2.71-carat Desert diamond.

The last piece in the suite is a ring with Wheeler’s “Twist” motif, featuring an 8.80 carat Desert diamond at the center stone accented by 3.37 carats white diamonds.

For her jewels, she wore De Beers London’s “Metamorphosis Spring” chandelier earrings featuring 9.96 carats of diamonds in 18-karat white and rose gold.

Her look was completed with three 18-karat yellow gold rings—the “Old Bond Street” ring with a pear-cut and pavé diamonds totaling 11.30 carats, the “Aella” ring with a 7.81-carat diamond, and the “Dewdrop” band.
