Pictet Alternative Advisors (PAA), the Pictet Group’s business unit specializing in alternative investments, has appointed Alexander Lukesch as Head of Multi Manager Real Estate. In this role, he will further develop the range of specialized solutions for private market investments, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.
Lukesch will be based in Geneva and report to Zsolt Kohalmi, Deputy CEO of PAA and Global Head of Real Estate.
He succeeds Laurent Gabert, who is taking on the newly created role of Head of Multi-Alternatives Investor Relations within PAA. In this role, Gabert is expected to strengthen the integrated client offering across all private asset classes.
Lukesch has more than 20 years of experience in real estate investment. His expertise includes, in particular, secondaries, partner buyouts, structured equity investments, recapitalizations and special situations.
14 years in London
Most recently, Lukesch worked at Madison International Realty as Managing Director, Head of European Investments and Deputy Chief Investment Officer. From London, he has been responsible for the company’s European investment platform since 2013. Since 2012, transactions with a total volume of more than $1.7 billion have been completed with his involvement.
Other stops in his career included Lincoln Property Company, where he focused on the acquisition of office and commercial properties in the U.S., as well as Corus Bank, for which he sourced and structured loans to finance commercial real estate.
Kohalmi described Lukesch as a highly respected investor. “With his in-depth expertise in secondaries and structured transactions, as well as his proven ability to identify and execute investment opportunities across Europe, he is an excellent addition to our team,” he said. Given the dynamic market conditions and the resulting entry opportunities, Lukesch is expected to help unlock investment opportunities and create value for clients.
