Amex Platinum authorized users gain lounge and travel perks

Authorized users of the Amex Platinum Card now access nearly all primary cardholder benefits, including lounge entry and hotel credits. The $895 annual fee covers up to four supplementary cards at $195 total. Recent changes make these added cards more valuable despite tighter restrictions.

Authorized users receive full access to Centurion, Priority Pass, and Delta Sky Club lounges, plus elite rental car status with Hertz and Avis. They also share hotel credits, Uber benefits, and digital entertainment allowances, though enrollment for Priority Pass must be done by phone. Spending on flights still earns 5 points per dollar for the primary cardholder.

These benefits remain intact despite the card’s 2026 fee hike and reduced credits. Authorized users don’t get separate bonus points or Global Entry credits, but the shared perks justify the low incremental cost. Cardholders should verify enrollment requirements for programs like Fine Hotels & Resorts to ensure full access.

Why it matters

Travelers can now extend premium lounge and hotel benefits to family or partners at minimal added cost. Missing these perks means paying full price for services like airport lounges or rental upgrades, which can total hundreds per trip.
